As Blais Veterinary Hospital meets or exceeds the highest standard of care in the United States for your pet, we will only refer our patients to another hospital that meets or exceeds the highest standard of care for your pet, and that is AVETS. AVETS is open 7 days a week, 24-hours a day.

Douglas R. Blais, VMD, CVA, is our Medical Director at Blais Veterinary Hospital & Center for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Blais graduated from the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist on March 8, 2012. Dr. Blais has specialized in Certified Veterinary Acupuncture to treat small animals and horses. Also, Dr. Blais specializes in Chinese Herbal Medications. Dr. Blais trained under Huisheng Xie, DVM, MS,PhD, who is internationally known and is President of the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine, Reddick, FL.

Blais Veterinary Hospital Receives AAHA Accreditation
Blais Veterinary Hospital of Indiana, PA has again received accreditation following a comprehensive evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association. The evaluation includes a quality assessment review of the hospital’s facility, medical equipment, practice methods and pet health care management. Only 15 percent of all small animal veterinary practices in the U.S. have achieved accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association. In order to maintain accredited status, Blais Veterinary Hospital must continue to be evaluated regularly by the association’s consultants.
Blais Veteirnary Hospital belongs to a select group of practices that are committed to meeting the highest standards in veterinary medicine, says Anna Worth, VMD, AAHA president. "AAHA hospitals pass a stringent evalution of over 900 standards covering patient care, client service and medical protocols. By attaining accreditation, Blais Veterinary Hospital is demonstrating its dedication to offering the best care to its patients and clients.
Established in 1933, the American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices thoughout the U.S. and Canada for dedications to high standards of veterinary care. Approximately 3,000 AAHA-accredited practices pass regular reviews of AAHA’s stringent accreditation standards that cover patient care, client service and medical protocol. Blais Veterinary Hospital, located at 107 Blais Road, Indiana, PA 15701, has been an accredited practice member of the association since 1996. Blais Veterinary Hospital’s Medical Director, Douglas R. Blais, VMD, has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 30 years. Dr. Blais states, "There needs to be a line drawn between the differences of veterinary practices and veterinary care. A veterinary practice with regular inspections guarantees clients and patients that only the safest guidelines are followed and the highest quality of care are given to all pets.
